Introducing Mia Grace

Welcome back, blog readers. I’m thrilled to share with you the most important blog post of my life thus far. I’m officially a mommy!

Our sweet little Mia Grace entered the world on May 13, 2012 at 2:49 in the morning. She was 6lb 14 oz, and I made it through the labor without pain meds! I’ve been wanting to share so many of the photos we’ve taken, and our birth story that I wrote up a couple weeks ago, but was struggling with where to post it. I know not every reader who comes here to look at wedding loveliness wants to be let in on all the juicy details of my baby-having experience, so I’ve created a password protected section of this post for those who’d like to read it and see more photos! Just let me know if you’d like to see it and I’ll hook you up with the password! For now… here are a few that I can’t help but share…

The following studio portraits of Mia were taken at 9 days old by Shanna Simpson Photography. Thanks Shanna!!

And here are just a few more we’ve taken since she’s been home!

Shannon + Andy: Engagements

I’ve been thinking about how to start this blog for days. Shannon is one of my very best friends, who I met on my very first day as a freshman in college. We’re going strong after 12 years of friendship and many years as roommates… and how do you begin to sum that up?

Shannon, I love you. And I love the way that Andy loves you. He sees how special you are, and I know he will treat you better than you would treat yourself for the rest of your lives. And how can I ask for anything better for such a dear friend?

I was so glad to be able to document a little slice of y’all’s love, and I can’t wait to stand up in full support of the amazing union that God is bringing to pass.

mom Wow! Such great pics and so many of them! They make such a cute couple!

Jennifer Cress GREAT pictures! Shannon you look so beautiful!

Raquel LOVE THESE! They are super cute and you did an AWESOME job (as usual) capturing them and their fun spirit!

Butler Family

Although I’ve not known them long, I adore this family. Audrey, below, was a child on the move, and so I had a great time just following her around and sneaking in photos where I could. The interactions recorded in these photos are some thatI hope will be treasured for a long, long time.
